2013.11.24 Thunderbolt GA

'Tis a very cool morning and what better to do than blog while cocooning in a warm bunk...

We had a rather long trip getting to soli this year as we went to visit the "fam" as Stephen would say....
This part was not too far...Canadian Thanksgiving at Wendy's...

David, carver par excellence trying to keep great dane Zara's nose from his knife...and the turkey...
Jack, Alec, Matthew, Adam and Katy...Julia was working
Matt proudly showing off his new set of wheels.
Then it was off to Toronto (the "good"...well not soc much lately) just in time for Taed to read Henry a bedtime story

I took very few pictures this trip, although we covered a lot of ground....Ontario, New York, Pensylvannia, Ohio, Kentucky,Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida and Georgia!!!
But i did when we went to visit Graceland...for those of you who are not Elvis fans..please skip the next few pictures...it was very interesting and we came out thinking he was a nice guy who, like so many, let success and his entourage destroy him!!!

His house was really not over the top by any standards...a little tacky maybe....

This is the Elvis I loved...
...and  of course the movie but especially the song!

...this one not so much....

it was exciting to see Baton Rouge appearing on the GPS...
Taed doing what he does best...and master Joshua (aka blueberry face) doing what he does best...eat and flirt!!!
We did a quick tripper bit and went up the Capitol building, from where David could get a wonderful view of the great Mississipi...

Then it was back to the reason for our visit....

Veronica and Joshua playing with and chewing on trains @B&N...

After shopping for books new car seats and a few wonderful days with the "Macs" it was time to move on...

 this is bubby's car seat....
we arrived in Thunderbolt and of course first thing...do not pass go...do not collect $200...just straight to Soli....
her hull was very shinny....although not particularly slenderising!!!
examining/admiring the new stack pack....the test of how much we love it will be when we raise and especially drop her

Soli was in pretty good shape after a good decommissioning, but i had to reinsulate the fridge...could not find the material that Steve had given me to do it the first time around...so texted Sharon ...who came up with the name of the stuff and where to buy it...team work yeah!!!

We also treated her to new bedding...

Chuck is coming to get us...
Emile, Blue Moon's master wishing David a successful launch...
pretty narrow track....good thing Chuck had done this a couple of times before..
Soli about to splash but not without the admiral/papparrazzi on board.
We celebrated by treating ourselves to a tuna dinner at Driftaway Cafe which Harriet and Skip made us discover last year...
David was bugging me about taking a picture of my breakfast at Dennys (i could not decide between pancakes and bacon and eggs....so Gina gave me one pancake) then when it came time to pay our bill, Gina informed us that a lady (who had already left) had picked up our tab "just because!!!" we were astonished needless to say and could not even thank our good Samaritan....that's Geogia for you!!!!
Yesterday, Blue Moon left her slip right astern of ours...we knew we could trust them not to scratch our baby (or theirs!!!)
Bye John...

Now that's Emile driving her out with a little joy stick on the port side...she has another one on starboard...no more big wheels for modern captains...
