2013.12.28 North Palm Beach, Florida

I have been really bad about blogging this year, part of my problem (any excuse is good) is that I have had to deal with 2 new cameras...returned the Nikon, which was very good but I think I am a Canon person and found the software too difficult...i now have a new Canon and the software is a lot different as well!!!!

So we left you in Thunderbolt when we first arrived....

Of course one of the first things we had to do was check out new main...

Another yearly drill is getting the dink on board in 3 easy steps...

It is so nice to have CLODS friends...they invite you to supper, entertain you royally and you get to do your laundry as well....on top of that you get chauffered around to do all your shopping . Thanks guys.

We were also very fortunate to be invited for dinner at Harriet and Skip, they also have bought a house in Vero ..we seem to be getting more and more CLODS (alright ..I'll tell you...Cruisers Living On Dirt) friends and Vero (aka Vecro) is living up to her nickname...Their house is wonderful and beautifully fixed up. we had a lovely evening catching up and were so happy to see Skip's hand totally recovered.

North Palm Beach was (is) our next stop...Rhoda and Julius drove all the way up for a visit...Rhoda got her sea legs after a tall glass of Pinot Grigio...thanks for coming...so nice to have friends from home see how we live on our "cute" little boat...

Our neighbours, Charlie and Marty (Pegasus) left last Sunday to anchor in the lagoon and be in good position for a Monday window departure, along with Cindy and Winky (Saltaire) and several other boats....the window just never really happened...Cindy saw "elephants" in the inlet, so after patiently waiting til noon, most of them came back to the marina and poor lame old Soli (sans inverter) was there to greet them.

We spent Xmas eve with the gang at a local restaurant...it would have been very quiet if they had not come back...

Nice job guys, next time David should stand at the bow....then Travis would only be a foot taller...

I am happy to report that my Xmas present finally arrived...it was the right size and is now all properly installed and working overtime charging Soli's batteries...the skipper is over the moon.

We can now entertain plans for a crossing...I say this as the wind is blowing...quite fresh...maybe Sunday night and Monday..it looks a little short as the wheels are coming off on Tuesday again...Que sera, sera!!!!

I must apologise for the size of the captions...very hard to read...i usually use a bigger font....will be more careful next time...sorry!

  1. Great photos, as usual! Thanks for explaining what a CLOD is. Hope you beat me to the Bahamas :)
